International Photography Awards - 2016

I’m pleased to announce success in this years International Photography Awards (IPA).

I won first place (gold medal) for my shot ‘Auditorium’ in the Non-Professional Architecture - Interiors category. This also won the overall Non-Professional Architecture category.

I also received a 3rd place (bronze medal) in the same category for my shot ‘Corridor’

And finally I received  an Honourable Mention for my ‘The Aliens’ series in the Non-Professional Architecture - Buildings category.

As you can imagine I am over the moon with these awards, they come after a particular barren period - not through a lack of stimulation or motivation - quite the opposite - I couldn’t shoot for 9 months due to back issues, and all the shots were taken over the course of 3 days in Valencia - which was my first major trip out after my recovery.  I guess you could say I had an amount of pent up frustration that manifested itself in these shots.  Of course it’s not just that experience the whole of the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is the most wonderful area, Calatrava possibly at his playful best
